Te Ao Maori & Kapa Haka

Te Ao Maori

At Redwoodtown School, we are on an exciting journey of learning and embracing Te Ao Māori. Together, we are building our knowledge and understanding of te reo Māori, tikanga, and the values that underpin this rich cultural heritage. Our aim is to grow as a school community that honours and celebrates the bicultural foundation of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Kapahaka

We have two kapa haka groups at Redwoodtown School.

Nga Kakano (year 0-2)

Te Kotahitanga (year 3-8)

Te Kotahitanga (year 3-8) is our senior group and are lead by Mr Ferguson, Mrs Merehira Wills, Mrs Connie Pinker.

All groups practice weekly and perform at events within the school and in the local community.
